Bunad silver Ostfold lady

Ostfold lady

The Østfold Bunad is from about 1930, with components that is based on old dress material collected by Østfold Husflidlag. The skirt is made in black wool fabric with a colored edge, either green or red, depending on the color of the waist piece. The waist piece is tightened with a silver chain threaded through 5 pairs of simple eyelets. The Heart brooch from Askim is commonly used at the neck, and you find it again as a clasp at the waist. The purse lock was of old made of brass, but nowadays you will usually find it in silver.
