Bunad silver Nordmore Lady

Nordmore Lady

Todays version of this Bunad is made from reconstructions of old garments, and is based on the costume habits typical for inner Nordmore during the first half of the 1800's. The color of the waist piece is red or green, and the skirt is either dark blue or black.
The Bunads white shirt is decorated by a characteristic type of embroidery done with white thread on white linen. A purse, shoes with lace, or the more ordinary Bunadshoes complete the outfit. There are different variations in material and accessories for this Bunad.
The Silver: There are quite a few variations in the silver, but everything is in silver og gilded bronze. In the neckline of the shirt there is a neck button with pendants, or a sprette with a rather large sqare pendant. There's also different kinds of "offerdåse"(Angus Dei) with chain made for this Bunad. There's cufflinks in the sleeves of the shirt and simple buttons on the sleeves of the jacket. The cape needs a pair of fasteners to keep it around the shoulders. Different types of plaques and belt buckles belong with the outfit, as do a purse clasp, a knife, shoe buckles, a Bunadring and ear trinkets.
