Bunad silver West-Oppland lady

West-Oppland lady

The Vestoppland Bunad was developed from 1937 to 1939. The lovely flower motives originate from an old sleigh pillow from a farm In Brandbu. The flower motives are used today on the skirt, the headdress and the pocket. The waist piece has simpler embroideries. The Bunad comes in several different shades of blue. Recently it got garments for outside use too.

The silver:
This Bunad has oxidized silver. The shirt is decorated with one to two heart brooches with cut or casted pendants. It has a rococo and empire fashion stile. The silver is a direct copy of the old silver in the Toten and Hadeland area. The waist piece is held together with a tightening chain in silver with spears through simple eyelets. The cuffs has cufflinks and the shoes has buckles. The bag lock varies some, but shall be silver. A ring, earrings, a time piece and a knife belongs with this Bunad too.
