Bunad silver Nordhordaland gentleman

Nordhordaland gentleman

The gentleman's Bunad from Nordhordaland come in various models, with only small details keeping them apart. They all derive from the same costume fashion the way it was in the 1800s. The coats and vests are a bit different from each other, while the breeches, suspenders, stockings and shirt are the same for all editions of this Bunad.

The Silver: In the shirt there is a single or double neck button, along with silver cufflinks. Most commonly, silver is used for the buttons in the coat, vest and pants, but tin may also be used. The pattern in the silver is of the leaf rose. The coat has got a double row of 6 buttons in the front and 2 or 3 on each sleeve. The vest has got a double row of 8 buttons. The breeches use 3 buttons and a buckle by the breeches, and the waistline has one button in front, 3 on the flap and one on each pocket. A knife, a timepiece and a chain for it should also be considered to complete this Bunad.
