Sunnmore lady

There are a lot of different types of Bunads for ladies in Sunnmøre, they all have a long history and quite a lot of commonalities. They are all embroidered on wool fabric, and the cut is very similar. The exceptions are the Bunad from south Sunnmøre and the one from Vigra.

In the shirt you will find the Sunnmøre button with a long pendant, a needle and a pin at the back of it. Originally it was probably a so-called rod button. You can also use a chest brooch fastened at the top of the waist piece. Other accessories are cape clasps, silver shoe buckles and sleeve buttons. The purse lock is usually silvered. Most people choose silver in fair or gilded shades for this Bunad, but some use oxidized silver.
