Bunad silver Sogn lady

Sogn lady

Explanations of the old Bunad traditions in deep Sogn was written down by the Priest Bøyesen around the 1820s. The Bunads from Sogn come in various models, and traditionally, most of the silver was brought home from Bergen. A neck button or -pin at the neck, and often a face-brooch below that, or a rose-brooch with dish leaf pendants. Often one or two gilded silver pins on the cape collar. The waist piece usually had 3 or 4 eyelets threaded with a silver chain, letting the points of the chain hang down.
