Sunnmore gentleman

The Bunad for men from Sunnmøre was first used in the early 1900s. The coat and breeches are made of black wool fabric. You can use suspenders with the pants fastened with buttons. The vest is in red wool fabric with its well known cut in front. The white linen shirt has decorations in its embroideries. Stockings with ribbons, a hat and a neckerchief also belong with this Bunad.

The Silver: The neck button and cufflinks are made in silver, while you might find buttons and buckles and clasps in tin too. The number of buttons on the coat may vary, but 8 pairs in front are normal. The sleeves also contain buttons. The vest can have up to 9 pairs of buttons. The breeches are closed with 3 buttons on top, and it has 3 to 4 buttons and a buckle at the knee. The shirt is closed in the neck by a neck pin and at the arms by cufflinks made of silver. Shoe buckles, a knife and a timepiece with a chain belongs with this Bunad too.
