Bunad silver Valdres gentleman

Valdres gentleman

The gentleman's Bunad from Valdres is here shown with Black-coat. That is the oldest version of this Bunad. It has been in production since 1962. Over the years it has been slightly modified. That is why you can find more than one edition of this Bunad today. Part of the suit is reconstructed copies from the mid 1800s. You can use both pants and breeches, along with a square patterned vest.

The silver: You use a neck brooch, a ripple ring or neck buttons with or without pendants on the shirt. The cufflinks have a rose pattern or ripples. The buttons should have matching patterns, but can alternatively be flat and made of brass. The vest has a double row consisting of 6 buttons, while the pants have buttons in front and four at the knee lining. A knee buckle is used at the knee lining. In addition a guy should have a knife, silver shoe buckles and a timepiece with a chain.
