Bunad silver Nordfjord gentleman

Nordfjord gentleman

The male Bunad from Nordfjord derives from the early 1900s. Today, one may choose between two models of the coat. One of them has a split and slightly resembles a short version of tails, with a joint and a pair of pockets on the back. The other model has no pockets and is straight all the way. The Bunad is made in blue and black, and one may have ether long pants or breeches with it.

The silver: Apart from the split coat having 2 buttons in the back, all the silver is the same for both models. Both coats have one button placed on each lower collar, and rows of 7 further down. There are 3 buttons on each sleeve. If the pants or breeches have a flap, there should be 5 buttons, and if there is no flap, only 1 button in the waistline is used. The breeches also have 3 buttons and a buckle. In the shirt there is a double neck button and cufflinks. On the vest there is a double row of 6 buttons. The silver is, as it was before, foremost oxidized silver with the leaf rose - theme, like so many other male Bunad. Shoe buckles, a knife, a timepiece and a chain helps to make the whole set complete.
