Bunad silver Sogn gentleman

Sogn gentleman

The male Bunad from Sogn came in style in the early 1900s. It's built on material from the first half of the 1800s. Today's Bunad is called "Steglatrøya" and is made in white fulled woolen cloth with edges in black velvet. The picture shows a red edition of the reconstructed Sogn Bunad. Breeches are used with both models.

The Silver: The reconstructed Bunad carry brass buttons, buckles for the knee lining and suspenders. Mainly oxidized silver with the leaf rose theme was used, like on so many other male Bunads. We recommend talking to your tailor about the correct amount of buttons for coat, vest and breeches. In the shirt one uses a neck button and cufflinks. Shoe buckles, suspender buckles, a knife, a timepiece and a chain for it completes the set.
