Bunad silver Bomlo/Stord/Fritjar Lady

Bomlo/Stord/Fritjar Lady

This Bunad was made around the 1950's and was called the Sunnhordaland Bunad, or girls Bunad from Stord, Fitjar and Bomlo. The Bunad comes in various models, differing with only small details. The waist piece is made in green, red or blue cloth and is lined with a lace in silk or wool. The bodice is made in black cloth, but has got three different shapes. The chest cloth and belt is either embroidered or woven. The shirt is white and the apron is either all white, or dark blue with patterns. A head garment, cape and coat are also available for this Bunad.
The silver: The silver is fair and gilded for the Bunad, but it is also common to use oxidized for the blue or green waist piece. In the shirt, one uses a neck button in the neck lining and a rather large brooch on the chest. The waist piece of the Bunad is laced together by 3 eyelets and a lace going in front of the chest cloth. This helps to show off the brooches. In the shirt sleeves one uses cufflinks and in the cape there is a pretty buckle at the neck. Some also prefer to use Dalar for their Bunad.
