Bunad silver Os gentleman

Os gentleman

The gentleman's Bunad is a variation of the popular Bunad from this area around the 1900s. The Coat and breeches are made in black wadmal. The vest is in red cloth with a red area in front. This gives the illusion of two vests. The illusion is enhanced by a double row of buttons on each side on the green area and single rows on each side or the red parts. The shirt is in white rough cotton or linen.

The silver: It is common to use oxidized silver for this Bunad. The coat has double lapels, but you can't button it up. There are two buttons on each arm. The vest has a double row of seven buttons centered in front and a row of slightly larger buttons on each side. At the back of the vest you will find a silver buckle. The breeches have four buttons and a buckle for fastening the knee lining. In addition you will find five buttons for the pant-flap. The shirt is decorated with a neck button and cufflinks. A knife and a timepiece with chain belong with this costume too.
