The costumes from Hedmark had no strong tradition for silver. This one from Østerdal is no exception. Hart brooches were relatively common in a variety of models and lengths. One of the more common varieties was with clipped silver diamond- or cross- shaped leaves. The shoe buckles was usually in cast bronze or brass.

This is the mother of all Lady of the house key. Dale-key was used in the Stave church in Dal in Telemark. The original key was made between year 1190-1220. It is 9 cm long.
