Bunad silver Romerike gentleman

Romerike gentleman

The male Bunad from Romerike is constructed after a picture from the early 1800s, as there exists too little preserved materials.

The silver used for this Bunad is made with elements from the lady's heart-brooch, in example King Christian the 7th monogram. Yet, buttons with, say, the ordinary five bladed rose might be more authentic considering the timeline. Buttons constitute most of the silver on this Bunad. 5 large ones for the knee-long coat, 5 small ones for the vest, and 4-8 small ones for the breeches (2 in each knee lining and 4 in the flap, if there is one). Then there's a neck button and cufflinks, along with knee buckles. To complete the set, a man should have a knife, and the ladies would appreciate a timepiece to help him get home at a reasonable hour. Shoe buckles in silver may also well be used.
