Bunad silver East-Telemark lady

East-Telemark lady

Some call the East-Telemark Bunad "The Queens Bunad". Whether it is because H.M. Queen Sonja wears it a lot, or because it is the queen amongst Bunads, you decide for yourself. It is, in any case, a lovely garment, and it might just be the Bunad that, with "Bunad artist" Anne Bamles' help, contributed the most to the renaissance of Bunads in Norway. The silver fitting for this Bunad is the Bol brooch and the serpent brooch as the main brooches. A horn ring and/or barley ring and/or a fastener and/or a ripple ring and/or neck buttons in addition to the main ones. (It is up to 5 different brooches on the chest). Then there's cufflinks, eyelets (One may have more of these, between 3 and 6 pairs), buckles and a purse clasp. Those that have a black'n'white shirt often choose oxidized silver, and those that have color embroideries on the shirt choose old gilded. But there is no rule saying it has to be that way, so one may also have a mix of old gilded and oxidized if one so desired. Everything is a part of making your Bunad unique.
