Bunad silver Ostfold gentleman

Ostfold gentleman

The gentleman Bunad from Østfold exists in many editions, and is reconstructed based on costume parts from late 1700s to early 1800s. The long coat, called "the dress", is made in both white and dark blue wool fabric. The breeches are made in white hide and in black wool fabric. They are working on the fourth edition of the vest.
The silver: A neck button with an anchor and cufflinks with a five-leaf-rose-pattern. These are direct copies of the original costume pieces. For the vest, coat and breeches it is used a simpler flat button. It is made based on a tin button found in the old vests. Most people use silver, but some use brass for the blue coat. The coat has eight buttons in front and three on each arm. The vest has a double row of six buttons, while the breeches have buttons in front and three by the knee. The knee lining should have clasps. In addition a guy should have a knife, silver shoe buckles and a time piece with its chain.
